About
The Urban House is a real estate development company rethinking how we look at buildings.
Rather than viewing new developments as buildings, we begin with a place. Places are where you meet new friends, discover food, explore art, or where people call home. The comfort we all feel at home comes from the familiar smells of food, traditions passed down by our families, ideologies, cultural references, and more. These are the intangible components of heritage passed down and created by each generation, and embedded in the DNA of the urban environment is heritage. Understanding the role of heritage in a site and listening to those who will engage in new developments is how new places can begin to be born.
Through experiences working with some of Los Angeles’ most respected developers, The Urban House has been part of 1111 Sunset, The Bloc, Playa Vista, NBCUniversal 20-Year Master Plan, The Google Hangar at Playa Vista, Residential Master Plan of The Alhambra, Ports O'Call Village; numerous public-private partnerships including Metro's 7th Street Station, CFD Mello-Roos Bond Districts 4-6 in Los Angeles, 7th Street DTLA; creation of historic districts, and more.
